Home Sellers Join the Marching Band
Today's buyer has a different thought process and is marching to a different tune. Times have changed. Selling your home has a whole new meaning - new meaning to the buyers, that is! Selling a home today is all about intricate detail. Sellers need to march with perfection and the buyers need to see the performance! Listing agents cringe today when they hear their seller say, "The buyer can make that color change and visualize my homes potential. I'm not selling accessories, I'm selling a house. After all, this is a resale, not a new home!" Whoa! Back up the band! Sellers need to grab their instruments and march in unison with today's buyer. In fact, take that attitude and this is what the buyer's instrumental will sound like, "This home hasn't been well maintained; I wonder what else is wrong that I can't see." Or, "This is a great home, but it needs so much work! I'm not going to pay this asking price. Maybe we can get a deal." Here's another tune the seller often drums off key, "I'll give the buyer a decorating allowance if they ask." Guess what? They don't ask. That buyer is marching on without you! They just removed your home from their "top 40 list" because there are a lot of other top hits they are marching off to see! The band is marching for the team and sellers need a team of professionals if they are going to have the buyer's band marching to their tune. The need to impress home buyers with a show performance has become crucial in today's market. The value of adding a home stager to your home selling team is key.
