The Power of Marketing With "R's"
You are at the local farmers market. As you stroll past the many vendors peddling their fruits and vegetables, you notice one stand in particular that has some mighty fine looking apples. The peddler notices you eyeing up his apples and says, "You should buy my apples; they are the juiciest, sweetest apples in the county. I eat one of these apples everyday! You won't regret your purchase. I promise!" "Hmm . . . maybe", you think to yourself. In the meantime, you continue to mosey on down the various aisles surveying all of today's fresh offerings. You come upon another peddler's stand that also has exceptional looking apples. The peddler says nothing to you, but a complete stranger you've never met, taps you on the shoulder, and says to you, "You should buy his apples; they are the juiciest, sweetest apples in the county. I eat one of his apples everyday! You won't regret your purchase. I promise!" And, of course, it is this vendor's apples that you pick! It came recommended. A complete unknown to you has just become an expert on apples! Even though the first vendor promoting his opinion has been growing and selling apples for 30 years! Never under estimate the power of three "R's" when building your business; Referrals, Recommendations, and References. |
